L'Oreal Hair Competition
So a little while ago I was contacted by a local hair stylist about providing make up that evening for three male models for a hair competition shoot. The salons Artistic Team are competing in the L’Oreal Men’s Image and Colour Trophy Awards. I don’t normally do last minute jobs, usually I’m booked in advance but on this occasion I was available and came to the rescue.
I arrived at Unique in Beverley while the models were mid way through their hair makeovers. It was great to watch the hair team work their magic and use their creativity to create three very different styles. I set up my make up; I had a smaller kit than usual. The make up was basic photographic make up with a bit of contouring. Being male too the models required very different make up to female models in order to get them camera ready. I used light coverage CC Cream to give the models an even skin tone and a mattefying powder to set it, this also eliminates shine on camera. I used powders to contour their faces and to shape their eye brows. I actually wrote my dissertation at university on men wearing make up so this is a subject I’m very familiar with.
The photographer arrived whilst I was doing the make up on the models to transform an area of the salon into a studio. Here are some sneak peeks from behind the scenes.
Check out the slide show below, I think you will agree the hair team did a fabulous job and the models look amazing. The make up finished off each look perfectly for the photography and the photographer captured each look perfectly. Thank you to the lead Artistic Team member Matthew Anthony Varley and to all the staff at Unique, Beverley for having me on the shoot. It was fantastic to meet and work with you all and I look forward to future photoshoots!
I must also add a huge CONGRATULATIONS too because from this evening the team got through to the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Regional Finals!! Good luck!
Because you're worth it......
